William Hughes of Llanfechell on 24 December 1788 burgled the house of Grace Williams in the parish of Beddgelert and stole 2 wooden drawers of value 2/- and certain pieces of silver coin and copper pieces of the proper coin and copper money of this realm called shillings, sixpennies and half pennies of value £3.15.-.(WALES 4/277/1)

TheQuarter Sessions papers (Easter 1789) record a payment of £1.19.8. to the gaoler for dieting William Hughes for 17 weeks at 2/4 a week and at the Trinity Session "3 weeks maintenance for William Hughes who was executed (7/-)".
